Your life may have just shifted considerably and now, more than ever, it is important to take care of ourselves and one another. We are all in this together, and I am here to help in whatever way I can. Flexible teletherapy appointments and sliding scale rates are available.
Christie Leonard is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified yoga instructor, specializing in counseling services and movement-based therapy for individuals, couples, families and larger groups.
Do you find yourself feeling stuck, lost, sad, worried all the time? Are you struggling with feelings of anxiety, having problems in a relationship, experiencing difficulties communicating, or having issues with self esteem? I want to help.
Starting therapy is a very personal choice. If you are at a point in life where you are ready to make a change, but not entirely sure how, let me guide you.
Led by the belief that people are experts regarding their own lives, I will work with you to examine your inner life without judgement and develop new skills for emotional resilience. Armed with these tools, you will begin to see that you already possess the power to make the changes you desire.
Using an approach to treatment that joins western psychology with the wisdom of eastern philosophy, I will help guide you through difficult situations—including relationship issues, life transitions, grief, anxiety and depression—and assist you in transforming these challenges into opportunities for growth and learning.
I specialize in mindfulness-based therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) using a strengths-based and person-centered approach. In addition to being a therapist, I am also a registered yoga teacher. By weaving together techniques from yoga therapy—such as guided breathing and meditation—and traditional psychotherapy, we will begin to increase your awareness and rediscover not only your sense of self, but of self-control.
I offer in-person sessions for individuals, couples, families, or larger groups, as well as teletherapy sessions for individuals who cannot make it to my office. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I also offer movement-based sessions.
